Is manufacturing coming home?
There appears to be evidence of a swing away from the trend over the past few years of outsourcing manufacturing to foreign lands with EQC seeing an increase in enquiry levels and contract wins of parts that were previously sourced from abroad. Customers are expressing dissatisfaction with some of the quality coming from overseas and this is combined with some uncertainty about the economic stability of some states in the Eurozone.
Manufacturers in the UK are now turning to EQC to provide the quality finishing operation that is being demanded with the additional advantage of closer upply lines leading to increased productivity. Automotive parts, pieces for the leisure industry and water industry components have now come back to the UK and are being finished by EQC.
EQC Managing Director, Steve Rosher commented “We’re still seeing difficult times overall in UK manufacturing, but there appears to be some evidence of more quality being demanded in the UK and as a result EQC are positioning themselves to take advantage of this.”
