EQC Secures High Volume Rail Contracts
Euro Quality Coatings Ltd (EQC) has recently secured a number of large rail contracts that will see millions of commuters each day interact with our coatings. The contracts will see EQC partner 3 different rail engineering companies and provide coatings for such household names as Arriva Trains, Virgin Trains, Great Western Railways, Trans Pennine Express, and The West of England Mainline.
The Hitachi 800 Class has been launched for the UK Governments Inter City Express Programme. The trains will be manufactured at the new Hitachi Plant in Newton Aycliffe, and will replace the current fleet of Intercity 125’s.
EQC have already begun coating the Internal Electrical Cabinets, Window Panels, Bowden Cable Covers, Tapered End Panels, Disabled Toilet Facilities and Luggage Stacks for the initial fleet of trains being supplied to Virgin, GWR, West of England, and Trans Pennine Express.
As well as the 800 Class, EQC have also begun a similar scope of works for the new fleet of 70 Class 385 Commuter Trains being supplied by Hitachi for Scotsrail, and these will run predominantly on the Edinburgh to Glasgow Line.
But the work doesn’t stop at the rolling stock! EQC are also coating an initial order of 600 Train Ticket Terminals that will begin appearing all over the UK at Arriva Train Stations, and have been involved with Knorr Bremse on a large volume scope of works for Train Station Refurbishment as the UK Rail Network is brought up to standard for the 21st century and beyond.
