EQC Enters The World of Sport
Following an approach from Port Talbot based Taibach RFC, the company has agreed a deal that will see the EQC Logo emblazoned on the sleeves of the U10’s team for the next 3 seasons.
EQC Sales Manager and Taibach RFC U10’s Head Coach David Morgan explains;
At EQC it is vital that we have a brand that we can be proud of and customers can identify with. When people think of Vacuum Cleaners, they think of a Hoover, and that is where I would like EQC to be. Maybe not to the international level that Hoover was, but definitely in South Wales. I want a brand that when people think of Powder Coating or Electrophoretic Coating, the first name on their lips is EQC. We are well known as a business in Cardiff, Newport and the Valleys, and also have strong customer relationships across the border in England. For me though the immediate area to focus on as Sales Manager is West Wales. We already have a few good relationships with companies in Llanelli & Swansea, but I want to build on this and make EQC ‘The’ go to Powder Coater in South Wales. This is just one of many small steps we will be taking in the near future to build on the success of the last 20 years at EQC, raise our profile, build brand awareness, and make EQC front of mind to all of our potential customers.
Taibach U10’s last year played over 40 games in the Afan Nedd District, Swansea and Bridgend, and can expose EQC to potential customers in these areas for 3 years. As coach of the team, it is vital that grass roots rugby is supported in Wales, as this is the future of the Welsh National Team. Our club has produced players of the quality of James Hook and Richard Hibbard in recent years, but we cannot function at Mini Rugby Level without the support of companies such as EQC.
To me personally rugby isn’t just about what happens on the pitch, but it is about developing the whole child in terms of discipline, respect for themselves and others, teamwork and social skills. We have influence over children at some of the most important times in their development, and rugby can give them the skills they need to succeed and the desire to do so in other aspects of their lives. Without the generous support of our partners many children would be lost to sport and suffer as a result. This is why we are so grateful to our current partners, EQC, Ocean Foods and WPS Construction.
