Super School Forms Integral Part of the Community
A new £40m Super School in Port Talbot has officially been opened this Academic Year, and EQC are proud to have played a small part in how it looks.
Opening last month the Ysgol Bae Baglan Project was completed on time and within budget by main contractor Bouygues UK. It will see 1,500 pupils from four Port Talbot Schools, Cwrt Sart Community School, Sandfields Comprehensive School, Glan Afan Comprehensive, and Traethmelyn Primary School all housed in the one state of the art facility.
Working with a local Balustrade Manufacturer, EQC Powder Coated all of the Handrails and Balustrades throughout the facility. This was just one of the £15m worth of contracts that were awarded to South Wales Based Contractors.
The school will allow the children to access the latest technologies including Tablets, and Macs in the classrooms, whilst biometric technology will make for a cashless catering, library and registration systems.
Sales Manager David Morgan said ” As a resident of Aberavon, and someone that drives past the school every day I was delighted that we could play just a small part in making this building complete. It is a fantastic facility that will benefit the local area massively, not just with the school itself, but with the facilities such as the playing fields and all weather rugby and soccer pitches that can be used by local clubs to ensure they can train and play throughout the winter months.”
